Data scrapping is the process of extracting information from a website in which a user designs a bot(bot?) to extract data which we call them data scraper. It also extracts data from various multinational companies to source content related to market behavioral data  and product data for keeping track of competition or by supplying data to another companies or shell companies at a handsome money . All these data are collected  may be used  for unethical work or for ill will approach through dark web 

It is basically done to obtain confidential information like contact details and addresses of clients and employees  particularly for banking manipulation .it can also be used for bulk mailing rabo-calling and malicious social engineering.  Hackers used a particular type of modus oprendi in chrome extensions or with the help of plug-ins to reach many  targeted websites 

They used so many types of machinization like data mining tools to filter and mine various information 

We read in past couple of days through newspaper or  by television that much bulk of facebook data leaked by confidential men employed in facebook company itself to Cambridge Analytica situated in London which might be used by many multi international companies and even countries according to there convenience.  

One more news is highlighted by news media that facebook sued two companies in the US .these two companies are involved in data scrapping from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Amazon and LinkedIn. perhaps they might be for election manipulation purposes or for business purposes. Whatever the reasons behind but these two companies are caught in engaging in malicious data harvesting 

All these can be understood by a simple example china often mishandle this data obtain from its companies against and also so many countries that the targeted people what preferred the most and most important thing their weak points, if all these are compiled into data then these data are feed to their departments of either business class or defence class. All these keep china a step ahead from other countries 

Instead all this threat to data privacy, it is not considered as illegal because it is basically to track or examine the unethical serches conducted from time to time by these search engines 

Precaution from being feel doubt of unsafe data scrapping 

Updating HTML settings, Enable you CAPTCHA and block multiple requests from the same IP address  and not open spam massages

All this can protect you from out of vicious circle of data mishandling

Why?data is important can be understood by a hypothetical example - suppose you are a research scholar and you have invested whole of your life in researching particular thing  indepthly and you find initial success after very long periods of time, but  what will happen if someone track your data where you store in confidential form through modus oprendi and theft it and sell this research idea to someone who used this idea and register it as  patent  all this will ruin your life as you toil day and night for getting desired result so therefore  it not only violated ethical hacking but also violation of  intellectual property right. Same condition  to writers also because they also invested long days in brainstorming for better writing story

It becomes hot potato in today's life because evey become one become so conscious about it. There are debates in every universities,colleges,schools about how to protect personal data safe. Not only people but also all countries are very concerned about it  because those country will become powerful who have data of world wide and from here a race data is started. 

What it means?

Data privacy mainly defined as keep your information  confidential (secret)  so that none of  any one access your personal data. For example if you are chatting in whatsapp then no one will know what is being chat between the two persons because it is totally  encrypted messages. Like this there are many platforms where you feel yourself safe provided you will keep your mobile phone safe i.e your mobile phone is not being hacked. 

There are many strict or stringent laws have been made by governments which considers personal information or data privacy as utmost importance. So you should aware about your rights which come time to time in newspapers and many official website you can approach for your well understanding about your  pre-emptive precautions . Also always be careful from malicious person who are like "a wolf in sheep clothing" and might be very dangerous.
