United Nations Security council

         Security council

It is mainly created to maintain international peace and security

It's headquarter is situated in New York

It is this international institutions that leads from the front in determining existence of threat to the peace and act of aggression

It's  governing president changes every month on rotation in which it is consisting of 15 member states (5 permanent members and 10 non permanent members which is for 2 years term and after it  terminated) .Each member has one vote.

Here 5 permanent members are : United States of America, Russian  Federation, China, United Kingdom and France in which all of them have utmost importance veto power (power of permanent member to veto i.e reject any resolution tabled in security council ). By and large it means in case of veto by any of  five permanent members leads to no further action and debate on concerned issue

It is noted here that  any member of  United Nations (except permanent  members  always participated)  can participate if security council considers  that the concerned issue is related to that country and affects country's interest provided they don't have the right to cast their vote

All procedures are working smoothly but possession of veto by  permanent memers violated the very purpose of this body which endeavour to work in consonance with Democratic principal

That's the reason behind the clamour for India for changes in the security council for the purpose of including more members Nations thus making it more stronger and effective in this globalized social and economy.
